You read that right: RIFFTRAX IS MAKING A VIDEO GAME! This project has been a year in the making, and we’re so happy to finally let you all know about it. We partnered with the fine folks over at Wide Right Interactive (makers of What The Dub?! And Freedom Finger) to bring the definitive movie riffing game to Steam, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox on May 5th, 2022. In fact, you can even wishlist the game on Steam right now!
What is RiffTrax: The Game? A brand new, multiplayer party game that lets you do the riffing! Choose from two game modes: Write-A-Riff, which lets you write your own riffs for a cheesy movie clip (or select a professionally crafted riff at a slight point deduction), and Pick-A-Riff, where you’ll be dealt a hand of riffs and can select the funniest one for the clip that’s played. If you’ve ever dreamed of being in the RiffTrax driver’s seat, now’s your chance!
The game features over 250 movie clips from RiffTrax classics like A Case of Spring Fever, Plan 9 From Outer Space, Magical Disappearing Money, Measuring Man, Buffalo Rider, and a whole lot more! Plus, over 2,000 jokes written by the RiffTrax team exclusively for the game.
In 2021, the master of twists and underwhelming conclusions M. Night Shyamalan took a critically acclaimed, under-the-radar graphic novel and turned it into a critically panned, under-the-radar movie. Want to hop onto a comedy beach that causes rapid aging with RiffTrax? If we reach $395,000 on this campaign, we'll record a Just The Jokes MP3 of Old and all backers at the $75 level and above will get it for free.
$420,000 RiffTrax Live: Return of Swamp Thing Blu-Ray!
We think you'll agree that the cinematic splendor of The Return of Swamp Thing should not be limited to Standard Definition. How could we possibly appreciate the various scenes of Swamp Thing trudging through the muck in the bog at night? If this campaign can surpass $420,000 with your help, we'll produce a Blu-Ray of RiffTrax Live: The Return of Swamp Thing, and all the backers at the $90 LiveShow DVD level and higher will get it as part of their rewards!
$450,000 Bridget and Mary Jo-produced educational short!
Have you ever watched the various "educational" films we've riffed over the years and thought, "This sure could use a dash of Bridget and Mary Jo"? Well, if this campaign gets past the $450,000 mark, you won't have to wonder any longer! Bridget and Mary Jo will produce their very own piece of edu-tainment, then every backer at the $75 All Digital Tier, plus the $100 level and above, will get to enjoy it for free!
The intergalactic spice trade has never been more visually arresting than in Denis Villeneuve's 2021 adaptation of Frank Herbert's Dune! You won't have to stick your hand in the Gom Jabbar to unlock some riffs on Timotheé Chalamet, Zendaya, and the rest of this star-studded sci-fi ensemble. If backers work together to get this campaign past $480,000, all backers at the $75 All Digital Tier, as well as the $100 level or above, will let the spice flow as part of their rewards!

Happy Thursday, backers!
We've been making some excellent progress on our shorts stretch goals so far. It's only a matter of time until we unlock the rest.
In the meantime, we thought now was a great time to announce a brand new reward for this campaign. Back by popular demand, it's a Kickstarter exclusive pin!
This year's pin will be crafted by Nikol King, the same artist who designed the Ice Cream Bunny, David Ryder, Glaive, and Octaman pins for our 2018 and 2019 Kickstarter campaigns, and was also the winning option of a poll we ran over on our Patreon.
Once again, the pin will be die struck in iron with a black plating, soft enamel, and soft rubber clutches, and it can be yours by pledging at the NEW $110 level or higher. What do you think? (If you decide to increase your pledge dollar amount, please remember to upgrade your reward level as well, to ensure you receive all the rewards you're expecting.)

One week from today, March 15th at 8:00AM PT, RiffTrax will be making a BIG announcement right here on this Kickstarter campaign. It's something that we've been working on for a long time, and is truly unlike anything we have ever done before.
While it's not another movie being added to this year's RiffTrax Live calendar, it is something that will involve you, dear Kickstarter backers — and we think you will be very excited to see it.

Here Come Short Stretch Goals!

It's a new week, backers, and so we have a brand new set of stretch goals for you! In celebration of Kickstarter's Long Story Short month, we're unleashing SHORTS FOR ALL!
Starting at 3500 backers, and for every additional 250 backers beyond that (up to 5750), we're going to add FREE SHORTS to EVERY BACKER at EVERY REWARD LEVEL. Even if you support this Kickstarter at the new $1 "JUST SPREADING THE LAUGHS" tier, you'll get up to TEN professionally-crafted pieces of professional comedy once the campaign is over, you've completed your Backer Survey, and you've come back to the website to activate your rewards**. (NOTE: You will need to select a reward level when you make a pledge, as we have found that backers who choose "NO REWARD" might encounter issues when activating their bonus rewards later on.)
Here's a breakdown of what we're adding, and what number of backers we need to get there:
Of course, we know a lot of you backers are long-time fans, and probably own some of these shorts already. Never fear! For every short you already own, you'll get credited $1 to your RiffTrax account when activating your Kickstarter rewards**. That means you'll either get some RiffTrax Comedy or RiffTrax Credit. Sounds great, right?
So, the best thing you can do for this Kickstarter right now: tell everyone! Your friends, your family, your frenemies - anyone within earshot who also has a Kickstarter account, or knows how to create one.
